Development Bank of Zambia (DBZ) is a development financial institution (DFI) within the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) region. The Bank is seeking to implement a modern Bank IT architecture that will enable DBZ achieve competitive advantage by offering a superior Integrated Core Banking System that will leverage IT for business efficiency while enabling DBZ meet its challenges posed by a dynamic banking environment. In addition, the Enterprise Resource System should be able to fully and competently leverage the banking value chain. This should include sales, marketing, product development and transaction processing.
The core enterprise banking system should be fully supported by underlining functions such as risk management, human resources, distribution technology, and infrastructure. The solution should also be able to exploit state of art technology such as Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), with Straight Through Processing (STP) capabilities, web enabled technology as well as support Cloud Technology, such as Software-as-a-Service (SAAS).
